Tiago has a diverse background in managing technology R&D and product development programs, as well as establishing strategic initiatives in high-tech sectors. He holds a BSc in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Beira Interior (Portugal), an MSc in Space Technology from Lulea University of Technology (Sweden), and an MSc in Astronautics and Space Engineering from Cranfield University (UK), graduating with honours. Tiago’s international recognition includes being the first Portuguese participant in the Space Master Studies program and the Caltech Space Challenge.
Over the past decade, Tiago has served as a research engineer and project manager for aerospace projects. Later, he founded and led the development of a business unit focused on Space and Ocean Engineering at Portugal’s largest engineering centre. This endeavour involved raising more than 130M€ in non-dilutive funding and overseeing a team of over 100 employees, resulting in the creation of four spin-off companies, including Portugal’s only Satellite Operator. In 2022, he became the youngest member of the International Academy of Astronautics.
Since 2023, Tiago has served as the CEO of Connected, a company he co-founded, offering affordable, standard, and sustainable IoT connectivity from Space.
