O contra-almirante João Paulo Cancela Roque nasceu em Lisboa, em 1966, possui uma licenciatura em Ciências Militares Navais – Marinha, pela Escola Naval e um Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, pela Naval Postgraduate School.
Ao longo dos 40 anos de serviço na Marinha desempenhou vários cargos, destacando-se os de Diretor de Ensino da Escola Naval, Diretor de Tecnologias de Informação e Comunicações e Superintendente das Tecnologias da Informação.
Assumiu as atuais funções de chefe do Centro de Comunicações e Informação, Ciberespaço e Espaço do Estado-Maior-General das Forças Armadas em junho de 2023.
Rear Admiral João Paulo Cancela Roque was born in Lisbon in 1966. He has a Naval Military Sciences – Navy degree from the Naval Postgraduate School and a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School.
During his 40 years of service in the Navy, he has held various positions, including Director of Education at the Naval Academy, Director of Information and Communications Technologies and Superintendent of Information Technologies.
He took up his current role as head of the Communications and Information, Cyberspace and Space Centre of the Armed Forces General Staff in June 2023.
