Licenciado em Engenharia Aeroespacial pela instituto Superior Técnico, com pós Graduação em Gestão, pela Universidade Nova de Lisboa, José Neves é Presidente do Conselho de Administração da AED, Cluster Português da Aeronáutica, Espaço e Defesa, e Membro do Conselho de Administração da multinacional GMVIS SKYSOFT.
José Neves é Membro do Conselho da organização ASD Europe, entidade com base em Bruxelas que representa as Indústrias da Aeronáutica, Espaço, Defesa e Segurança na Europa. No passado foi Presidente da Assembleia Geral da DANOTEC, Associação Portuguesa de Defesa
José Neves é especialista para Comitê de Inteligência Artificial na Aviação, SAE G-34 Norma relativa ao Processo para Desenvolvimento e Certificação de Produtos Relacionados à Segurança Aeronáutica, Implementando Inteligência Artificial, fundador e membro do Grupo de Trabalho NATO FAMOS, que endereça a interoperabilidade de sistemas aviónicos embarcados, sendo igualmente perito da Comissão Europeia para o Programa Clean Aviation. José Neves é formador no Curso em Direito da Defesa Nacional e no Programa Avançado em Economia de Defesa.
Licensed in Aerospace Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, with a postgraduate degree in Management from Universidade Nova de Lisboa, José Neves is Chairman of the Board of AED, the Portuguese Aeronautics, Space and Defence Cluster, and a Board Member of the multinational company GMVIS SKYSOFT.
José Neves is a board member of ASD Europe, a Brussels-based organisation representing Europe’s aerospace, space, defence, and security industries. He has previously served as President of the General Assembly of DANOTEC, the Portuguese Defence Association.
José Neves is an expert for the Artificial Intelligence Committee in Aviation, SAE G-34, a standard concerning the Development and Certification Process of Aeronautical Safety-Related Products Implementing Artificial Intelligence. He is also the founder and a member of NATO’s FAMOS Working Group, which addresses the interoperability of embedded avionics systems, and serves as an expert for the European Commission on the Clean Aviation Programme. José Neves also lectures in the National Defence Law Course and the Advanced Programme in Defence Economics.
